Without being at all ‘pushy’ he recommended the tiles be replaced with the ‘stop’ tile system to prevent them moving and said he could only advise further about the timbers once the roof had been stripped back. He involved me throughout, encouraging me to see exactly what he was doing and explaining why it was necessary and I trusted his judgement completely. Unfortunately, years of water ingress had taken their toll and substantial parts of our sizable roof were rotten and needed replacing. Given we had ceilings attached to the roof timbers this was very worrying but Malcolm used his experience and ingenuity to support the ceilings whilst the beams were replaced minimising internal damage and the need for redecoration.
I cannot praise him enough for the way he went about this large project keeping me informed about timescales, costs and discussing options resulting in a fabulous job that was very good value for money. His team worked exceptionally hard and were prompt, friendly, trustworthy and respectful of our property at all times and are a credit to Malcolm and his company. Unlike many ‘building sites’ Malcolm kept this one free from bad language, litter and cigarette ends.
I now have a wonderful new, safe and dry roof that has transformed our house but without losing its charm and character, which is an absolute credit to Malcolm and his team. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in strongly recommending Malcolm at Strictly Roofing to anyone needing help with their roof – big or small.
