We moved into our lovely French house in January this year. We had not planned on having a new roof, but storms in February and March made our house far less beautiful! The insurance assessor agreed repairs could be made, but advised us to re-roof to avoid the same thing happening again in successive winters. After some research we contacted Malcolm.

Malcolm is blunt and I quickly realised the scale of the problem and the cost. However, he is also very professional and caring and I rapidly developed confidence in his assessment and advice. He was extremely thorough in evaluating the roof and took time measuring accurately and lifting existing tiles to inspect under. Following a wholly itemised quotation, Malcolm came back twice to answer our questions and show us the various problems.

A start date was agreed to fit around the occupancy of our gîte, but bad weather caused a delay. However, Malcolm’s friendly, skilful team worked tirelessly to catch up. As work progressed, further rotten rafters and purlins were discovered. Malcolm ensured we went up onto the roof to inspect the damage, before any decisions were made. Malcolm was the complete professional and he prepared a new quotation later that day. The work finished on time and when the team cleared up, we would have hardly known they had been there.

The new roof not only looks beautiful, enhancing the appearance of the house, but the tiles are interlocked to ensure durability and it has a membrane to safeguard against water ingress. It is a truly amazing feeling to have a secure watertight roof and we now laugh when it rains. The harder the better!

Malcolm and his excellent team, not forgetting Dawn in the office, made this unexpected and costly event in our lives painless and almost pleasurable. Due to problems we were having with our roof we decided to ask Strictly Roofing (Malcolm) to assess the problem and advise as to resolution. His response in terms of speed, clarity and cost was exemplary. He was prepared to advise and explain, very helpful in every possible way.

We initially approached Malcolm for a quotation for repair to the roof on our main house and on his first visit to investigate he advised us that the tiles were at the end of life and even showed me the extent of the initial problem. On starting the work further issues were discovered caused by the previous owners when they converted the loft area to accommodation and Malcolm kept us fully appraised of the additional work that would be required. Malcolm even incorporated addition work with the installation of two new Velux windows that we acquired while the work was being undertaken. His team worked tirelessly even in wet weather and on finishing the work the site was tidied up and little evidence of them being there was left other than the new roof.

Malcolm and his team of workers carried out a first class job replacing our roof, working tirelessly every day until the job was finished. I even felt part of the team driving to Cholet to collect a Velux window, so that the work could continue without interuption! Bee stings were sustained from a nest in the chimney, with little complaining, well actually a lot of complaining, but who can blame them!! I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Strictly Roofing replaced our roof. The entire team, headed by Malcolm Cooke, worked tirelessly throughout a very hot spell. They caused minimal amount of mess (cleaning up after themselves) and disruption. The work was completed within the estimated time. Malcolm kept us up to date with the progress and we could go up on the roof to see what was what at any time. We are very pleased with the end result and feel it was excellent value for money. We would happily use Strictly Roofing again and therefore would recommend them unconditionally. Should anyone wish to inspect our roof to see the work done we would be happy to show them.

If you do not have any recommendations, it is always a gamble finding a contractor. From my first enquiry I felt a sense of interest and efficiency from Dawn, Strictly Roofing’s first and subsequent point of contact, and having met Malcolm was happy to let him carry out the work whilst we remained in England. The quotes were detailed and offered options, and during the work Malcolm kept me in the picture through photos and phone calls. At no time did I feel pressurised or out of control. Despite inclement weather the work was finished on time, the site left clean and tidy and the finished roof could not look better. In summary – a friendly, efficient and professional company. Definitely recommended.

We purchased our house some three years ago, there was a list of projects which we knew needed to be undertaken, however a new roof was not one of them, after several years of storms water ingress and patching the old roof we decided to replace the roof, this was some 300 Mtr Sq.

We obtained several quotes and engaged Malcolm of Strictly roofing to undertake the work, we are based in the UK so having to deal with any issues that arose remotely was going to be a challenge. Malcolm commenced the work on the agreed date and kept us fully informed of progress and any issues via email and photos, which was very useful and allowed us to make an informed decision on what needed to be done. Due to the age of the roof there were many decisions to be made and Malcolm gave us a true picture of what needed to be done.

The work was completed on time and to the agreed budget, we have gone through a very wet and stormy winter the house has remained dry and we have had no need to contact Malcolm, the house continues to dry out and the roof remains secure.

We have recommended Malcolm to a number of friends and neighbours who have issues with their roof. Once again Malcolm and Dawn many thanks for completing the replacement roof.

Strictly Roofing has undertaken two items of work on the roof of our House. In the first instance we need “emergency” repairs…..Malcolm Cooke and his team acted very swiftly and ensured our house was water tight. As we had been impressed with the service offered when we later decided to have most (if not all) of our house re-roofed, we called upon Malcolm and his team to undertake the work. Again Malcolm acted in a very timely manner…..and we are very pleased with the result…despite heavy storms we know we have a secure and water tight roof.
